Our Committees
The structure of the Collaborative has evolved over the past decade to best support the mental health system that serves our children and families. In addition to the large group collaborative meetings, there are three subcommittees that have been formed to focus on specific areas of change: Advocacy, Best Practices, and Continuum of Care.
AdvocacyThere has been an increased need to examine macro level policy that impacts children’s mental health. Some examples include Medicaid reimbursement rates and delivery of school-based mental health services. Alongside the larger CMHC group, this group will identify the important policy efforts needed to advocate for children’s mental health.
Group Membership: CHMC Steering Committee |
Best PracticesThe Best Practices committee will support the coordination of the existing systems and their interaction with CMHC members and their target populations. Best Practices will function as a clearing house and coordinating body of established practices currently used across many schools & agencies to help promote Social Emotional Learning for our students and their supports. Some of the interventions include CBITS, FACE Kids, Building Bridges, and Bounce Back. This committee will promote regular evaluation of these and other emerging programs to include representation of students, families, community partners, and school services personnel.
